Keep one evening open

A little unallocated time can be the most useful thing on a calendar.

The space between things

A full week can look reassuring on a screen. In practice, the gaps are where a late bus, a good conversation, or an unexpected idea can fit. An empty evening is useful time too.

Give it a place

Pick one evening this week and leave it unassigned. It does not need a name or a goal. If something lovely comes up, there is room. If nothing does, that is room as well.

Keep the experiment small

Try it once before changing your whole routine. The point is not a perfect schedule. It is noticing what a little slack feels like.
